Jean Chatzky is correct, you cannot get your FICO score–the score that is used by lenders–for free. However, if you want an approximation of that score, there are a few companies that will provide them for free. But keep in mind, that each free attempt will in fact add an inquiry to your report which has been known to lower your score. See credit score myths below. And all [except MY FICO] are the credit scores developed by the credit bureaus themselves, Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax, and are not your actual FICO scores. Only the FICO score from myfico.com is used by lenders to determine your credit worthiness. CreditKarma.com: Gives you your TransUnion score. But it is Advertising-supported. E-Loan: Experian score. If you visit their website, be sure to scroll down to “One-Time Credit Snapshots” and “Free Credit Score (Credit Score Only)” Prosper: Experian score. Feel free to ask any credit related questions in the comments section of this video. I’ll be happy to answer them if I can. ALSO, PLEASE FREEZE YOUR CREDIT REPORTS!!!!!! and please go to www.optoutprescreen.com to opt out of all offers of credit and insurance for 5 years. Don’t bother with the permanent opt-out. Credit score myths: Myth: You have only one credit score. You actually have three scores, one from each of the three bureaus (Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax). They use the same “equation” from Fair Isaac Corporation but they each collect their own data, they each have their own slightly

www.creditcardsforbadcreditnotbadpeople.com In this video I tell how I found several Credit Cards for bad credit individuals like myself. Actually my credit was horrible not just bad. I had filed chapter 7 bankruptcy my real estate business was bankrupt I have over 10 homes foreclosed on! The idea that I was ever going to get a credit card with such bad credit was disheartening. I also had 2 cars repossessed, I felt like I had the worst credit on earth. When things were going good in my life and my credit was great I could get a signature loan in a heartbeat, I had an American express card that had no limit as long as you paid it off the next month. After the BK the only amex I could get was an American express for bad credit After my bankruptcy, I didn’t know how I was ever going to get credit again even a credit card. I thought that maybe with my credit repair back ground that I could figure out how to get a credit card with bad credit. I looked into the market of secured credit cards… this is where you make a deposit to the credit card company for the amount of your limit. For example if the secured credit card had a limit of 0 then you would pay 0 to them and they would give you the credit card. You may be asking yourself what is the point of the credit card if you have to pay the amount of your limit. The reason is that if your credit is so bad that is all you can get after you use that credit card for 6 months keeping the payment current and not going over

  4. TransUnion is evil. They send out form letters and do NOT read your dispute letters. They do NOT comply with the FCRA IMO. My experience is that even if you do go to small claims court, as I did, the judge will take the side of these evil companies.
Basically, you and I and everyone is screwed. Hopefully, somehow, someone, somewhere will expose TransUnion for what it is. A complete fraud. TransUnion should burn in hell IMO. There should be a regulatory agency which oversees these thieves.

  5. not with fico

  6. Actually, yes ou can get it for free, if you have a walmart credit card, you can set it up for paperless statements and you can also enroll in the free FICO program where you can check ur score whenever you want as many times as you want, and it will not effect your future score.

  7. Conclips is wrong. Just viewing your score does not lower it. Applying for credit does.

  8. where u get that info?!

  9. its crazy how only viewing ur credit score can lower it automatically!

  10. Secrecy is the greatest business secret. Having said that Jean is gorgeous. I think I’m in love… 🙂 You may now have someone smack me.

  11. How long do I need to use a secured credit card once I get one? Will I always need to use it? And if I stop using it will my credit fall?

I know its a long video but if you watch all of it and my other vids then you will see that what I did was NOT just go get more debt but to obtain credit lines that I used responsibly to create a new track record after bankruptcy. The sooner you start creating new responsible credit trade lines the quicker you can rebuild your credit score so you can finance the debt that is important in life like a car, home ect…

  13. why teach people to get new DEBT when they are just recently bankrupt??? you make no sense man?

Your right, secured credit cards do work the same way but secured credit cards report to the the credit bureau… that means when you use the credit card responsibly it builds your credit. Once you have built your credit using a couple secured cards you can then be approved for Unsecured cards (that don’t require a deposit) and in most cases with higher limits. That is what I did to start rebuilding my credit after bankruptcy. -Joe

I agree, if you have an extra $200-$400 cash in your pocket then you can get a secured card and be further ahead… but in my opinion the unsecured card that has $170 in upfront fees would be good if a person didn’t have any cash to put toward the deposit on a secured card. I personally have applied for cards that had these large fees only because I didn’t have a lot of extra cash but I knew that I needed to start establishing good credit lines and it was worth paying the fees. hope that helps

  22. thank you

  23. The one card listed on your site wants a $95.00 “one time” processing fee AND $75 for the first year (So Basically if you get approved you start with a balance of $170) then $45 a year after. No thank you! With their fees, it would be smarter to do a secured card and pay a deposit of $200. Better than wasting $170 on the fees just to obtain the card!

I can only speak for myself… My website is an affiliate site so when people sign up for a credit card I get paid by the credit card company. Some people may be turned off by that but when people come to my site I show them the best credit cards for bad credit and give them advice on what I used to rebuild my credit. So you could go directly to the credit card company and apply for the credit card or you could come over to my site and sign up… I do my best to provide value at my site

  28. Do people get paid to refere these credit cards?
